Starting Sunday, January 4, the TTC is introducing a new route, 906 Airport - Humber College, to link Humber College Terminal and Line 6 Finch West with Toronto Pearson International Airport. (Ironically, GO Transit is also starting new service, linking those two destinations, but much less frequently, this week.)
The TTC is also making a number of changes to service across Toronto.

Introducing a new route
906 Airport - Humber College express
The TTC is introducing this new route to link Humber College Terminal and Line 6 Finch West with Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Buses along route 906 operate “local” — meaning they drop off or pick up passengers at all stops — west of Humber College Terminal and “express — meaning they serve passengers at just a few stops — south of Humber College.
Service along new route 906 replaces short trips along the 37S Islington branch of the 37 Islington route after 10 p.m. every day.
Starting Sunday, January 4, southbound buses start their trips in Humberwood Loop, then proceed:
north- and eastward along Humberwood Boulevard;
eastward along Humberline Drive;
south- and eastward along Humber College Boulevard;
southward along Silver Bell Lane;
through Humber College Terminal;
northward along Silver Bell;
eastward along Humber College;
southward along Highway 27
westward along Dixon and Airport roads;
northward along Bresler Drive;
northwestward along Campus and Viscount roads; and then
southward into Viscount Station bus loop,

Buses serve passengers at stops every 15 minutes during all times, except early Sunday-and-holiday mornings and overnight when route 906 service isn’t available. Buses along route 906 operate less frequently than former service along the 37S branch of the 37 Islington route.
Cancelling branches of routes
37S Islington
Saturday, January 3 is the last night that the TTC operates buses along this late-night branch of the 37 Islington route between Humberwood Loop and Humber College Terminal. Starting Sunday, January 4, buses along the new 906 Airport - Humber College route replace route 37S service.
Buses along route 906 operate less frequently than former service along route 37S.
The TTC is also increasing service along another branch of the route, adjusting the schedules for buses along the route and resuming extra service to and from high schools.
984A / 984B Sheppard West express
Friday, January 3 is the last day that the TTC operates buses along two branches of the route — the 984A branch (Weston - Sheppard-Yonge Stn) and the 984B (Sheppard West Stn - Sheppard - Yonge Stn).
Starting Monday, January 5, all buses operate between Weston Road and Sheppard - Yonge Station, along the former 984A branch of the route. The TTC designates all buses along the route simply as “984”.
The TTC is also decreasing service along the route.

All extra buses operate along the 927A (Humber College - Kipling Stn) branch of the route.

Starting Monday, January 5, the TTC increases service along the route during the busiest time of the Monday-to-Friday morning rush hours. It’s operating three more westbound buses along the route toward downtown Toronto. The buses arrive on King Street West west of Bay Street from 8:15 until 9 a.m.

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route every day to maintain the reliability of the service during ongoing construction on Grandravine Drive. By adjusting the schedules, it’s also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route during various times.

- between Grandravine Drive / Arleta Avenue and Sheppard Avenue West / Tuscan Gate.
They serve common stops — where buses along both branches operate:

Starting Monday, January 5, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops north of Kennedy Road / Progress Avenue:
- every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 7 until 10 p.m.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along parts of the route during other times. It’s also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route and adding extra service for passengers travelling to and from high schools.
503 Kingston Rd
Starting Monday, January 5, the TTC adjusts its schedules so that Monday-to-Friday morning rush-hour service starts earlier — at 7 a.m., instead of 7:30 a.m.
During the transition from early-morning service, from 7 until 7:30 a.m., buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:
- every 6 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.
The TTC is also increasing service along the route.
114 Queens Quay East
The TTC is increasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours “to increase capacity.”

76A / 76B Royal York South
The TTC is increasing the frequency of service along part of the route Sundays and holidays ” to restore weekend service to a 10-minute network standard.”

- every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along other parts of the route.
106 Sentinel
The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route every day “to improve service reliability.” By adjusting the schedules, it also increases the frequency of service early Monday-to-Friday evenings.

- every 18 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route during other times of the week and resuming extra service for passengers travelling to and from high schools.
84A Sheppard West
The TTC is cancelling service along the 984B branch of the 984 Sheppard West express route Monday-to-Friday midday and early evenings. To maintain service levels along the Sheppard Avenue West corridor, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the local route during the same time.

- every 7 minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
- every 7 minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.

53A / 53B Steeles East
The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays to restore weekend service to a 10-minute network standard. By adjusting the schedules, it both increases and decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route.
Starting Sunday, January 4, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of Steeles Avenue East / Morningside Avenue:
- every 20 minutes, instead of every 21 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
- every 20 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes, after about 10 p.m.
Starting Saturday, January 10, buses serve passengers at the stops:
- every 24 minutes, instead of every 28 minutes, Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.; and

Starting Monday, January 5, the TTC resumes extra Monday-to-Friday school-day service for passengers travelling from St. John Paul II Catholic High School and York Mills Collegiate Institute.
Making other changes to service along routes
Line 6 Finch West shuttle buses
The TTC is cancelling service along the 37S branch of the 37 Islington route. Saturday, January 3 (early Sunday, January 4) is the last day that the TTC interlines Line 6 shuttle buses with buses along the 37S branch. All shuttle buses start and end trips in Humber College Terminal.
36 Finch West
Starting Sunday, January 4, the TTC operates all service Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with 18-metre (60-foot) articulated (“bendy”) buses, instead of standard 12-metre (40-foot) buses.
The TTC is also increasing service along the route.
336 Finch West overnight
Starting Sunday, January 4 (early Monday, January 5), the TTC is updating destination signs to display a possible short turn point at Finch West Station. The transit agency says, “These changes… also make it easier for passengers] to identify [buses] heading toward Yonge Street and / or Finch Station, helping improve overall wayfinding.”
The TTC is also increasing service along the route.
927A / 927B / 927C / 927D Highway 27 express
Starting Sunday, January 4, the TTC operates some of its service every day with 18-metre (60-foot) articulated (“bendy”) buses, instead of standard 12-metre (40-foot) buses.
It’s also updating destination signs to improve wayfinding for passengers travelling to and from Humber Polytechnic.
The TTC is also increasing service along the route.
302 Kingston Rd - McCowan overnight
316 Kingston Rd - McCowan overnight
Starting Sunday, January 4 (early Monday, January 5), the TTC renumbers route 302 as route 316. By renumbering the route, the TTC better aligns its number with its corresponding “daytime” route, 16 McCowan.
395 York Mills overnight
Starting Sunday, January 4 (early Monday, January 5), the TTC is updating destination signs to display a short turn point at Port Union Road.
Transit agencies often interline two or more buses with a common terminal to save resources — human resources (drivers) and physical resources (buses). For example, until January 3, when westbound buses along the Line 6 Finch West shuttle route arrived in Humber College Terminal, they continued further westward along the 37S branch of the 37 Islington route to Humberwood Loop. When an eastbound buses along route 37S arrives in Humber College Terminal, it continues further eastward along the Line 6 shuttle-bus route.
According to local transit commentator Steve Munro, the TTC is temporarily supplementing regular service along many routes to address crowding and reliability. The extra service is available because the TTC temporarily has surplus operators due to Metrolinx delays in opening Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West. Steve explains, “The extra service is unbudgeted and not guaranteed to remain, but TTC will monitor ridership it generates as input to plans for [future years].”
