Metrolinx is advising passengers that a GO Transit derailed near Union Station this morning, Monday, February 2. The disabled train remains in place and continues to impact most GO train service. The transit agency explains that “track availability is very limited, leading to ongoing signal issues, restricted train movement, and significant delays through the afternoon and evening.”
GO says that it can’t provide exact train departure times. Trains will operate as soon as they are able and within its normal service limits. It is operating running service on all lines it normally operates, but trains may not depart at their usual intervals.
Follow staff directions, listen for announcements, and watch station screens for the latest platform and service information.
Trains along the 01 Lakeshore West, 09 Lakeshore East, 31 Kitchener and 65 Barrie lines are operating every 30 minutes this afternoon. Trains along the 21 Milton and 71 Stouffville lines drop off or pick up passengers at stations every hour. GO is encouraging Milton line passengers to travel by TTC subway to Kipling Station to board Milton-line trains. GO has not provided information on how the disable train affects service along the 61 Richmond Hill line.
UP Express trains are also operating every 30 minutes.
