Bathurst streetcar infrastructure work: TTC detour, overnight, starting April 6



The TTC is currently revising service along the 511 Bathurst route due to essential maintenance projects on Bathurst and Fleet Streets and Queens Quay West.

Overnight from 11 p.m. Monday, April 6 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 and from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, the TTC is further detouring the cars to accommodate more streetcar infrastructure work on Bathurst south of Queen Street West.

Shuttle buses replace the cars.

511 Bathurst

From 11 p.m. Monday, April 6 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 and from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, southbound cars operate along their regular path to Bathurst Street at Queen Street West, then detour:

eastward along Bathurst;
southward along Spadina Avenue;
eastward along Adelaide Street West; and then
southward along Charlotte Street to Oxley Street,
ending their trips.

Southbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street at King Street West, Niagara Street and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Fleet Street beyond Bathurst and Bastion streets and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Manitoba Drive beyond Strachan Avenue and
  • in Exhibition Loop.

Instead, southbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen Street West at Augusta and Spadina avenues,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Queen Street West and
  • on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street.

Shuttle buses replace the cars south of Queen Street West. Southbound streetcar passengers may board southbound buses on the west side of Bathurst north of Queen West.

Northbound cars start their trips on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street, then proceed:

southward along Oxley;
westward along King Street West;
northward along Spadina Avenue; and then
westward along Queen Street West to Bathurst Street,
resuming their regular path northward along Bathurst.

Northbound cars skip their regular stops

  • in Exhibition Loop,
  • on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue,
  • on Fleet Street beyond Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street,
  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street and King and Queen streets west.

Instead, northbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond King Street West and at Richmond Street West and
  • on Queen Street West at Augusta Avenue and Bathurst Street.

511 Bathurst shuttle buses

From 11 p.m. Monday, April 6 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 and from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, buses replace streetcars along the 511 Bathurst route south of Queen Street West.

Southbound buses start their trips in Wolseley Loop (on the east side of Bathurst Street, just north of Queen Street West), then proceed:

southward along Bathurst;
west- and southward** along Fort York Boulevard;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West and Princes’ Boulevard;
northward along Strachan Avenue; and then
westward along Manitoba Drive and the Exhibition Loop access road into Exhibition Loop,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Bathurst Street at King Street West, Niagara Street and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Fort York Boulevard across from Gzowski Boulevard and at Fleet Street,
  • on Princes’ Boulevard at Strachan Avenue,
  • on Manitoba Drive beyond Strachan Avenue and
  • in Exhibition Loop.

Northbound buses start their trips in Exhibition Loop, then proceed:

eastward along the Exhibition Loop access road, Manitoba Drive and Fleet Street;
north- and eastward along Fort York Boulevard;
northward along Bathurst Street;
eastward along Wolseley Street; and then
northward into Wolseley Loop,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Exhibition Loop,
  • on Manitoba Drive at Fleet Street,
  • on Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Fort York Boulevard at Bastion Street and beyond Iannuzzi Street;
  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street and King and Queen streets west and
  • in Wolseley Loop.

Northbound bus passengers may board northbound streetcars on the north side of Queen Street West east of Bathurst Street.
