Hurontario LRT - Cooksville and Fairview: MiWay detours, overnight, April 9, 10

Metrolinx and its contractors continue building the Hurontario light rail transit line in Mississauga and Brampton. When the line is operating, it will be called the Hazel McCallion Line, to honour the late Mississauga mayor.


From 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 10, the City of Mississauga is closing

  • Hurontario Street, northbound lanes, between Hillcrest Avenue and Central Parkway

to accommodate the next phase of LRT construction near the future Cooksville and Fairview LRT stations.

MiWay is detouring buses along these routes, while the traffic lanes are closed:

  • 2 Hurontario;
  • 53 Kennedy; and
  • 103 Hurontario express.

2 Hurontario

Southbound buses operate along their regular path.

From 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 10, northbound buses operate along their regular path to Hurontario Street and Hillcrest Avenue, then detour:

westward along Hillcrest;
northward along Confederation Parkway; and then
eastward along Central Parkway West to Hurontario,
resuming their regular path northward along Hurontario.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hurontario Street at Kirwin Avenue, John Street, Fairview Road East and Central Parkway East.

Instead, northbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Hillcrest Avenue at the east and west access roads into Cooksville GO Station and at Confederation Parkway.

103 Hurontario express

Southbound buses operate along their regular path.

From 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 10, northbound buses operate along their regular path to Hurontario Street and Hillcrest Avenue, then detour:

westward along Hillcrest;
northward along Confederation Parkway; and then
eastward along Central Parkway West to Hurontario,
resuming their regular path northward along Hurontario.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hurontario Street at John Street and Central Parkway East.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Hillcrest Avenue at the east access road into Cooksville GO Station.

53 Kennedy

Southbound buses operate along their regular path.

From 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 10, northbound buses operate along their regular path to Cooksville GO Station east access road and Hillcrest Avenue, then proceed:

westward along Hillcrest;
northward along Confederation Parkway; and then
eastward along Central Parkway West to Hurontario,
resuming their regular path eastward along Central East.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hurontario Street at John Street, Fairview Road East and Central Parkway East.

Instead, northbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Hillcrest Avenue at the west access road into Cooksville GO Station and at Confederation Parkway.
