DRT raising fares, July 1



Durham Region Transit is raising its fares, starting Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1.

DRT explains that this fare increase is part of its “10-year strategy to invest in service enhancements, transition to a battery electric fleet, and offer new facilities and amenities.

DRT fares, starting July 1
  • Adults
  • Single-trip PRESTO tap: $3.84.
  • Monthly PRESTO Pass: $138.24
  • Cash (exact change only) and Open Payment (debit and credit card): $4.85.
  • Youth (ages 13 to 19 years)
  • Single trip PRESTO tap: $3.46
  • Monthly PRESTO pass: $110.59.
  • Cash (exact change only) and Open Payment (debit or credit card): $4.85.
  • Seniors (ages 65 years or older)
  • Single trip PRESTO tap: $2.53.
  • Monthly PRESTO pass: $55.30.
  • Cash (exact change only): $3.55.
  • Open Payment (debit or credit card): $4.85.
  • Children (ages 12 years or younger)
  • Free.
  • GO co-pay (transferring to or from GO Transit buses or trains)
  • Free.
