YRT raising fares, starting July 1

YRT explains that, “In November 2025, York Regional Council approved the 2026 budget which includes a three per cent transit fare increase effective… July 1, 2026. The fare increase will help cover rising operating costs due to high inflation and help support the cost of delivering service to the Region. Over the next several years, transit will continue to make investments to improve service for travellers.”
