Queen East / Broadview "streetcar infrastructure work:" TTC detours, starting July 27



The TTC is advising passengers that, from 11 p.m. Monday, July 27 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, July 30, it’s detouring streetcars due to “streetcar infrastructure work” at

  • the intersection of Queen Street East with Broadview Avenue.

It’s detouring cars along these routes:

  • 301 Queen overnight;
  • 304 King overnight;
  • 501 Queen; and
  • 504 King.

From 11 p.m. Monday, July 27 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, July 30, westbound cars operate along their regular path to Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street East, then detour:

westward along Dundas East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to King Street East,
resuming their regular path westward along King East.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Queen Street East,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street and
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament streets.

Instead, westbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Dundas Street East at River Street, across from Regent Park Boulevard and at Parliament Street and
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street and Queen, Richmond, Adelaide and King streets east.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street. Westbound streetcar passengers may board westbound buses on the west side of Broadview Avenue north of Dundas Street East.

Eastbound cars reverse the westbound detour path.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on King Street East at Sackville, Sumach and Lower River streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue and
  • on Broadview Avenue at Dundas Street East.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Parliament Street at Adelaide and Queen streets east, Shuter Street and Dundas Street East and
  • on Dundas Street East at Regent Park Boulevard, River Street and Broadview Avenue.

Shuttle buses replace the cars **between Parliament Street and Broadview Avenue. Eastbound streetcar passengers may board eastbound buses on the south side of King Street East west of Sherbourne Street.

304 / 504B King shuttle buses

From 11 p.m. Monday, July 27 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, July 30, buses replace streetcars along the 304 King overnight and 504B King routes between Broadview Avenue and Parliament Street.

Westbound buses start their trips in Broadview Station terminal, then proceed:

westward along Erindale Avenue;
southward along Broadview Avenue;
westward along Queen and King streets east;
southward along Sherbourne Street; and then
westward along Front Street East to Jarvis Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Broadview Station terminal (route 505 only),
  • on Broadview Avenue at Danforth Avenue (route 305 only), across from Wolfrey Avenue, Millbrook Crescent and Withrow and Langley avenues, at Jack Layton Way, Gerrard Street East, Mountstephen Street and Dundas and Queen streets east,
  • on Queen Street East at Carroll Street,
  • on King Street East at River, Sumach, Sackville, Parliament and Ontario streets.

Westbound bus passengers may board westbound streetcars on the west side of Broadview Avenue north of Dundas Street East.

northward along Jarvis;
eastward along King and Queen streets east;
northward along Broadview Avenue; and then
eastward into Broadview Station terminal,
ending their trips.

  • on King Street East beyond Jarvis Street, at Sherbourne Street, across from Ontario Street and at Parliament, Sackville, Sumach and Lower River streets,
  • on Queen Street East across from Carroll Street and at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Dundas Street East, across from Mountstephen Street, at Gerrard Street East, Langley and Withrow avenues, Millbrook Crescent, Wolfrey Avenue and Danforth Avenue (route 304 only) and
  • in Broadview Station terminal (route 504B only).

northward along Coxwell;
westward along Gerrard Street East;
southward along Broadview Avenue;
westward along Dundas Street East; and then
southward along Parliament Street to Queen East,
resuming their regular path westward along Queen.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops:

  • on Queen Street East at Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Alton avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, beyond Booth Avenue, at Boulton and Broadview avenues and Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament streets.

Instead, westbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Coxwell Avenue at Dundas Street East, Robbins Avenue and Eastwood Road,
  • on Gerrard Street East at Ashdale Avenue, Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Prust avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Marjory, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, across from DeGrassi Street and at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Mountstephen Street and Dundas Street East,
  • on Dundas Street East at River Street, across from Regent Park Boulevard and at Parliament Street and
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street and Queen Street East.

Westbound buses start their trips in Woodbine Loop (on the northwest corner of Kingston Road and Queen Street East), then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East;
southward along Sherbourne Street; and then
westward along Richmond Street East to Jarvis Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Queen Street East at Kingston Road, Coxwell Avenue, Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Alton avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, beyond Booth Avenue, at Boulton and Broadview avenues and Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville, Parliament and Ontario streets.
