You can jump up, jump around, jump along or just jump at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s Grand Parade through Exhibition Place and along Lake Shore Boulevard West on the western waterfront this Saturday. But first, jump onto GO Transit or TTC!
Both GO and the TTC are adding extra service to get you to the parade and back home again. The TTC is also also detouring service around the parade or to avoid the crowds of people before, during and after the event.
The bands start the parade near BMO Field. They proceed through Exhibition Place and then westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West from British Columbia Drive. At Parkside Drive, paraders return eastward along Lake Shore West to Strachan Avenue, then proceed along Princes’ Boulevard through Exhibition Place.
The City of Toronto is closing:
- Lake Shore Boulevard West between Colborne Lodge Drive and Bathurst Street;
- Fort York Boulevard between Fleet Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West; and
- Strachan Avenue between Fleet Street / Manitoba Drive and Lake Shore Boulevard West
from 2 a.m. Saturday, August 1 until 8 a.m. Sunday, August 2 to accommodate the parade.
Exhibition Place is closing to traffic:
- British Columbia Road at Lake Shore Boulevard West;
- Ontario Drive at Lake Shore Boulevard West;
- Newfoundland Drive at Lake Shore Boulevard West;
- Princes’ Boulevard at Strachan Avenue;
- Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue; and
- Dufferin Street at Dufferin Gate
from 2 a.m. Saturday, August 1 until 8 a.m. Sunday, August 2 to accommodate the parade.

GO Transit
You can travel to and from Exhibition GO Station aboard trains along the 01 Lakeshore West line.
Toronto Transit Commission
The TTC is increasing service along these routes to get you to and from the parade: Line 1 Yonge - University; Line 2 Bloor - Danforth; 29 Dufferin; 509 Harbourfront; 511 Bathurst.
It’s short-turning or detouring service along these routes: 80 Queensway; 307 Bathurst overnight; 310 Spadina overnight; 504 King; 510 Spadina.
511 Bathurst
All day Saturday, August 1, the TTC’s increasing the frequency of service along the route. Streetcars operate between Bathurst Station and Exhibition Loop.
Streetcars skip the stops on Fleet Street at Strachan Avenue during the event. Instead, board or exit cars at Exhibition Loop or on Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard.
307 Bathurst overnight
Saturday, August 1 and before 4 a.m. Sunday, August 2, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Fort York Boulevard and Fleet Street, then detour:
southward along Fort York;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West and Princes’ Boulevard; and then
northward along Strachan Avenue to Manitoba Drive / Fleet Street,
resuming their regular path westward along Manitoba.
Northbound buses operate along their regular path to Manitoba Drive and Strachan Avenue, then detour:
southward along Strachan;
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West and Fleet Street; and then
northward along Bathurst Street to Fort York Boulevard,
resuming their regular path northward along Bathurst.
Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway
All day Saturday, August 1, the TTC’s increasing the frequency of service along the line.
29 Dufferin
All day Saturday, August 1, the TTC’s increasing the frequency of service along the route. Buses operate between Wilson Station and Dufferin Gate Loop.
Extra Caribbean Carnival express buses operate non-stop between Dufferin Station and Dufferin Gate Loop.
509 Harbourfront
All day Saturday, August 1, the TTC’s increasing the frequency of service along the route. Streetcars operate between Union Station and Exhibition Loop.
Streetcars skip the stops on Fleet Street at Strachan Avenue during the event. Instead, board or exit cars at Exhibition Loop or on Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard.
504B King
From 7 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 1, streetcars start and end their trips in Sunnyside Loop, instead of Dufferin Gate Loop.
Eastbound cars start their trips in Sunnyside Loop, then proceed:
southward along Sunnyside Avenue;
eastward along The Queensway and King Street West to Dufferin Street,
resuming their regular path eastward along King West.Eastbound cars skip their regular stops
- in Dufferin Gate Loop and
- on Dufferin Street at Liberty Street and King Street West.
Instead, eastbound cars drop off passengers at temporary stops
- in Sunnyside Loop,
- on The Queensway at King Street West and
- on King Street West across from Wilson Park Road, at Dowling, Jameson, Dunn and Spencer avenues and Dufferin Street.
Westbound cars operate along their regular path to King Street West and Dufferin Street, then detour:
westward along King Street West and The Queensway; and then
northward into Sunnyside Loop,
ending their trips.Westbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Dufferin Street across from Liberty Street and at Springhurst Avenue and
- in Dufferin Gate Loop.
Instead, westbound cars drop off passengers at temporary stops
- on King Street West across from Spencer Avenue, at Dunn, Jameson and Dowling avenues, beyond Wilson Park Road and at Queen Street West and
- in Sunnyside Loop.
80 Queensway
From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, August 1 until 4 a.m. Sunday, August 2, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to The Queensway and Ellis Avenue, then detour:
eastward along The Queensway;
northward along Roncesvalles Avenue; and then
westward along Howard Park Avenue to Parkside Drive,
resuming their regular path northward along Parkside.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Ellis Avenue at Lake Shore Boulevard West,
- on Lake Shore Boulevard West across from Colborne Lodge Drive and
- on Parkside Drive beyond The Queensway, at Algonquin Avenue, High Park Boulevard, Geoffrey Street and Howard Park Avenue.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on The Queensway beyond Colborne Lodge Drive and across from Glendale Avenue,
- on Roncesvalles Avenue beyond Queen Street West and Marion Street, at Garden and Fermanagh Avenues and Grenadier Road and
- on Howard Park Avenue at Indian Road and Parkside Drive.
Westbound buses operate along their regular path.
510 Spadina
310 Spadina overnight
From 7 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 1, streetcars start and end their trips in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop.
South- and eastbound cars no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops:
- on Queens Quay West at Rees Street and beside the Harbourfront Centre and
- in the Harbourfront streetcar tunnel
- in Queens Quay / Ferry Docks Station; and
- in Union Station.
West- and northbound cars no longer serve passengers at stops:
- in the Harbourfront streetcar tunnel
- in Union Station; and
- in Queens Quay / Ferry Docks Station and
- on Queens Quay West beyond York and Rees streets.
Board streetcars along the 509 Harbourfront route to travel to and from Union Station.
