Weekend events affect transit services, September 4, 5, 6, 7

Autumn doesn’t officially start for another three weeks, but for many people, the Labour Day weekend seems like the last weekend of the summer.

Fortunately, you’ll have lots to do to keep your mind off the end of the warmer months with parades, sports events — and the Canadian National Exhibition — on the special-events agenda. Events in Brampton, the Erindale area of Mississauga, Hamilton, Milton and the Scarborough and central areas of Toronto all affect transit services this weekend, Friday, September 4, Saturday, September 5, Sunday, September 6 and Labour Day Monday, September 7.

The events affect these routes:

The Friday, September 4 event affecting transit service is: University of Toronto at Mississauga Move-In Day.

The Saturday, September 5 events affecting transit services are: Brampton Farmers Market; Megablast; Milton Farmers Market; University of Toronto at Mississauga Move-In Day; and The Taste of Bangladesh.

The Sunday, September 6 events affecting transit services are: Megablast; and The Taste of Bangladesh.

The Labour Day Monday, September 7 events affecting transit services are: a Canadian Football League game; the Hamilton Labour Day Parade; Megablast; The Taste of Bangladesh; and the Toronto Labour Day Parade.

Hamilton

Hamilton events include a Canadian Football League game (September 7); the Hamilton Labour Day Parade (September 7).

Canadian Football League game
All Hamilton Street Railway routes

You can ride any HSR bus free of fare to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Toronto Argonauts, Labour Day, Monday, September 7 at 2:30 p.m. — if you hold a valid ticket to the game.

With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Hamilton Stadium for as much as two hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.

You can also take advantage of Tiger-Cats Express shuttles. Park your car at or near one of three terminals across the City and the HSR will whisk you directly to the stadium on an express bus — and then take you back to one of the three terminals after the game. (You can also take another HSR bus to one of the three terminals — just show your game ticket to the bus operator and that’s your ticket to ride.)
