This GM New Look is a rare visitor to Queensway Garage in 1999. It is actually a change-off for a Queensway bus which broke down earlier on the northern portion of the 45 KIPLING route. It is seen here waiting to be taken back 'home' to Arrow Road Garage. The traffic office portion of Queensway is visible in the background. Photo by Brad O'Brien.

This is the area where buses are stored after retirement. All usable parts such as electronic signs, CIS units, Recaro seats and perhaps engine parts are removed and the bus waits to be towed away by the scrapper. 8251, stripped of all valuable parts, awaits it's destiny. Photo by Brad O'Brien.

The Employees of Queensway Garage, took extra time to restore D-800B 8257 to make it an historic heritage bus. It was the last D-800B to be in TTC service and operated almost 2 years after her sisters were retried. It was chartered twice by transit enthusiast groups and used in special events such as the UITP '99 Exhibition. It was finally donated to the Canadian Transit Heritage Foundation in the summer of 1999, where it will be preserved, hopefully, in operating condition. Photo by Brad O'Brien.
