Coincident with the extension of the SPADINA subway into Vaughan, service begins on the renamed and revised 106 SENTINEL route, replacing the 106 YORK UNIVERSITY route and serving Pioneer Village station. Buses operate from Sheppard West station via west on Sheppard Avenue West, north on Sentinel Road, west and north on The Pond Road, and northeast on Ian Macdonald Boulevard, north on Northwest Gate to Pioneer Village Station, returning via the reverse route. Service east of North West Gate within York University campus will be replaced by the 41 KEELE route. Buses operate seven days a week, whenever the subway is open.
Buses on this route are allocated to Wilson Garage, rather than Arrow Road Garage which had been the case for the 106 YORK UNIVERSITY route.
