Coincident with the opening of a new bridge extending Islington Avenue over the CN railway tracks between Judson and New Toronto streets, a new bus route is established, extending bus service on Islington south from Judson to Lake Shore Boulevard. Buses on 110 ISLINGTON SOUTH operate from Islington station via east on Bloor and south on Islington to loop via west on Lake Shore, north on Eighth and east on Birmingham to Islington, returning via the reverse route. Buses operate Monday to Friday, during rush hours and midday. Service operates out of Queensway garage.

Weekday evening and weekend service added. Buses now run every ten minutes during rush hours, and every twenty minutes at all other times, seven days a week, 18 hours a day.
February 9, 1987
Night service on Islington Avenue established on the 311 ISLINGTON NIGHT bus.
September 3, 1989
Service absorbs the 38 HORNER route, “in order to provide a more blended service on Islington Avenue”.
Service on the 110 branch remains the same. Service on the original 38 branch designated 110A, operating from Islington station via south on Islington, west on Judson, west on Horner, south on Brown’s Line and west on Lake Shore to Long Branch loop, returning via the reverse route. Buses operate seven days a week, 18 hours a day.
Service on the old 38A branch designated 110B. Effective Tuesday, September 5, buses operate from Islington station via south on Islington, west on Judson, west on Horner, south on 30th Street and west on Lake Shore to Long Branch loop, returning via the reverse route. Buses on this branch operate during rush hours only.
All buses leave from the same bus bay at Islington station.

Southern looping at Lake Shore and Islington expanded. Buses operate via south on Islington, west on Lake Shore, north on 12th Street, east on Garnatt Janes Road, north on Ninth Street, east on Birmingham to Islington. No change to the destination signs (among the last remaining on the system).
February 18, 1996
As part of system-wide service cuts resulting from the elimination of provincial subsidy for public transit, service on the 110A “Horner-Brown’s Line” branch eliminated after 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and all day Sundays. On the 110 branch, Saturday evening and Sunday evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

Accessible service launched.
November 23, 2008
As part of the TTC’s Ridership Growth Strategy, Saturday evening and all-day Sunday service reinstated on the 110A “Horner-Brown’s Line” branch. Buses operate at frequencies of 30 minutes or better whenever the subway is open.
