Coincident with the extension of the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY from Warden to Kennedy station, service begins on a new route replacing part of the 86 SCARBOROUGH bus on St. Clair Avenue east of Warden and Kingston Road between St. Clair and Lawrence as well as the 86B branch on Lawrence, Beechgrove, Coronation and Manse.

Buses on the new 114 KINGSTON ROAD EAST (the 114A branch) operate from Warden station via east on St. Clair and northeast on Kingston Road, looping via north on Markham Road, east on Eglinton Avenue and southwest on Kingston Road, returning via the reverse route. During rush hours, additional buses on the 114 branch continue on Kingston Road past Markham Road to Lawrence, then running east on Lawrence before looping via south on Manse, east on Coronation and north on Beechgrove to Lawrence. Buses reverse this loop during the afternoon rush hour.

According to a schedule effective this date, the 114A "Markham Road" branch only operates whenever the 114 "Beechgrove" branch does not (weekday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays). It seems likely that this arrangement was in place when the route started operation back in 1980, with additional short turn service added between Warden station and Markham Road.

May 12, 1986

Sewer construction on Coronation Drive between Beechgrove and Manse forces buses to divert both ways. Buses now run via east on Lawrence, south on Manse, east on Coronation and south on Chemical Court, looping at the south end of the street. Service on Lawrence east of Manse, on Beechgrove and on Coronation between Beechgrove and Chemical Court temporarily eliminated.

As construction continues west on Coronation, this diversion will be revised so that buses operate both ways via east on Lawrence, south on Beechgrove and west on Coronation, looping at the south end of either Chemical Court or Wallsend. Construction is expected to be finished by the end of August.

February 8, 1987

Daily evening service between Warden station and Markham Road discontinued. Last trips leave Warden Station at 6:30 p.m. and Markham Rd. at 6:57 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday 6:50 p.m.)

February 16, 1990

Last day of operation. Effective Monday, February 19, service is replaced by the 12C branch of the 12 KINGSTON ROAD bus, by additional service on 102 MARKHAM ROAD. A new branch on 86 SCARBOROUGH takes over operations on Lawrence, Beechgrove, Coronation and Manse.
