As part of an initiative to limit service disruptions due to Ontario Line construction at Pape Station, and provide more reliable service to the Port Lands from Union Station, service begins on the new route 114 QUEEN’S QUAY EAST, replacing the portion of the 19 BAY bus below Front Street, and the 72B PAPE bus west of Carlaw Avenue.

Westbound buses start from Carlaw Avenue & Lake Shore Boulevard East via south on Carlaw Avenue, west on Commissioners Street, north on Cherry Street, west on Lake Shore Boulevard East, south and west on Parliament St, west on Queens Quay E, north on Bay St, and east on Front St to Union Station. Service operates every 15 minutes during late evenings, every 12 minutes most hours on weekends, and 10 minutes during most periods weekdays, and 8 minutes during morning rush hours. The service is operated out of Birchmount Garage.

Service is increased to every 8-10 minutes during rush hours to deal with the influx of George Brown College students for the new semester. The route’s end-of-line is also shifted from Lake Shore Boulevard East and Carlaw Avenue to Lakeshore Garage, although buses operate out-of-service east of Carlaw Avenue.

Earlier in the spring, dedicated bus lanes were installed on both sides of Queens Quay East — westbound from Sherbourne to Bay and eastbound from Jarvis to Sherbourne — and on this day, service is officially adjusted at all times to reflect improved travel times from these lanes. Service now operates at intervals of 12 minutes or better whenever the subway is open.

The reroute of the service east of Carlaw Avenue to Lakeshore Garage is officially implemented on this date, although this service had been operating this way since September 1, 2024. While it is not stated explicitly that the service operates in service east of Carlaw, the TTC publishes scheduled arrivals and departures at Lakeshore Garage Loop, making a connection with the 83 JONES route.

Finally, destination signs are adjusted to reflect the renaming of Villiers Island to Ookwemin Minising.
