March 23, 1985

Coincident with the opening of the SCARBOROUGH RT, service begins on a new route serving Brimley Road north of Sheppard Avenue, replacing a branch of the 57 MIDLAND route. Buses operate from Scarborough Centre station and run via east on the bus access road, north on McCowan, west on Sheppard and north on Brimley, looping through an off-street loop on the west side of Brimley Road just south of Steeles Avenue, returning via the reverse route. Buses operate seven days a week, eighteen hours a day.

June 23, 1986

The off-street loop south of Steeles Avenue is abandoned in favour of a new off-street loop on the east side of Brimley Road north of Steeles, extending service north a few hundred metres.

October 18, 1987

Coincident with the opening of a new Brimley Road bridge over Highway 401, service is rerouted to operate from Scarborough Centre station via west on Triton Road and north on Brimley to the off-street loop north of Steeles Avenue. Service via McCowan and Sheppard discontinued.

September 5, 1989

At the request of Markham Transit, a new rush-hour branch established, extending service north of Steeles Avenue via Brimley Road to 14th Avenue, looping via east on 14th Avenue, south on Calbeck and west on Highglen to Brimley. Buses operate every thirty minutes in addition to service to Steeles

September 3, 1993

Last day of service for the 128A “14th Avenue” branch. Service discontinued at the request of the Town of Markham.

February 18, 1996

As a result of the elimination of provincial subsidy for public transportation, service after 10 p.m. eliminated, while Saturday and Sunday midday and early evening service reduced to 30 minute headways. Morning rush hour service also reduced.

September 3, 1996

Monday to Friday late-evening service restored, with buses operating at 40 minute intervals.

October 11, 1998

Service rendered accessible using Orion V lift-equipped buses.

July 23, 1999

Last day of operation. Effective July 24, service is combined with 21 BRIMLEY, with buses through-routed through Scarborough Centre station. Buses on the 21B branch continue to provide service between Scarborough Centre and Steeles Avenue only.
