Service is supposed to begin on the renumbered 13 AVENUE ROAD route, replacing the 5 AVENUE ROAD route from the night before. This was the plan according to the TTC’s service update earlier that summer. However, the change is vetoed and the bus continues to use route number “5”.

June 20, 2021

Service properly begins on the renumbered 13 AVENUE ROAD, replacing the 5 AVENUE ROAD route and clearing the “5” route number for use by the EGLINTON-CROSSTOWN LRT.

Main branch (13A) buses operate from Eglinton Station via north on Duplex, west on Eglinton Avenue West, south on Oriole Parkway, west on Lonsdale, south on Avenue Road, south on Queen’s Park Crescent West, returning via north on Queen’s Park Crescent East, north on Avenue Road, east on Lonsdale, north on Oriole Parkway, east on Eglinton Avenue West and south on Duplex to Eglinton station.

Secondary branch (13B) buses continue from Queen’s Park Crescent West via south on University Avenue and east on Elm Street to Elizabeth Street, returning via north on Elizabeth, west on Gerrard and north on University Avenue to return via the main route to Eglinton station.

The 13A branch operates seven days a week until 10 p.m., except for weekdays during the midday, when service is provided by the 13B branch.

Buses on this route is used with Orion VII low floor buses operating out of Wilson Garage.

January 5, 2025

To provide accessible public transit to the area around Museum Station until wheelchair accessible elevators are added to that station, late evening service is temporarily restored on the 13A “Queen’s Park” branch (this service was previously eliminated in April 2018) so that it or the 13B “Gerrard” branch operates at all times the subway is open.

In preparation for the 5 EGLINTON LRT, northbound service on 13 AVENUE ROAD will divert from the Oriole/Chaplin intersection via northwest on Chaplin and north on Avenue Road before heading east on Eglinton. This change will facilitate connections between this route and the EGLINTON LRT at Avenue station.
