13 Neville Park (2005)

Compiled by Pete Coulman

In April 2005, extensive trackwork on Queen Street east of Kingston Road forces the temporary abandonment of streetcar service through the Beach. With construction so intense that even shuttle bus service on Queen Street was impossible, the TTC revised the transit services in the area, connecting residents and shoppers in and around Queen Street with diverted streetcar services on Kingston Road, and the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY. Service was augmented on the area’s north-south routes, including 92 WOODBINE SOUTH and 64 MAIN, but this was insufficient for the eastern end of Queen Street. Thus, the TTC decided to connect this area to the subway via Victoria Park, and they decided to give this temporary route its own name and number. Service on 13 NEVILLE PARK began on April 4, 2005.
