March 25, 1985

Coincident with the opening of the SCARBOROUGH RT, a new rush hour only route is established to connect the industries of Middlefield Road with Scarborough Centre station, replacing the 85E SHEPPARD EAST branch east of McCowan Avenue. 130 MIDDLEFIELD buses operate from Scarborough Centre via north on McCowan, and east and north on Middlefield, looping via McNicoll, Maybrook and Newmill Gate. This looping is reversed for the afternoon rush hour.

November 23, 1987

The north loop is expanded to operate via McNicoll, Maybrook and Passmore (no change to the route sign). This loop is reversed after 3 p.m. Monday to Friday midday and evening service is also added on this date.

February 13, 1994

Service extended north of McNicoll to an existing off-street loop on Middlefield just north of Steeles. Buses continue to serve McNicoll, Maybrook and Passmore northbound until 3 p.m. and do so southbound after 3 p.m.

February 18, 1996

As part of a system-wide reduction in service due to the elimination of provincial subsidies to public transit, late evening service (after 10 p.m.) is eliminated, Monday through Friday.

August 31, 2008

Bike rack service is added on this date. Service has also been made accessible using Orion V lift-equipped buses.

November 23, 2008

As part of the TTC's Ridership Growth Strategy, service on 130 MIDDLEFIELD is expanded to operate seven days a week, at intervals of 30 minutes or better, between Scarborough Centre and Steeles Avenue whenever the subway is open. MIdday and late evening service Monday-Firday and all weekend service will be interlined with route 132 MILNER. The Sunday Passmore-only branch is thus made redundant and eliminated.

There are also routing changes on this date as well. Service on Maybrook Avenue at off-peak times is now provided by the 42A CUMMER branch. So, service begins on a 130B rush-hour only branch, with morning northbound buses operating via Middlefield, east on McNicoll, north on Maybrook and west on Passmore before heading north back on Middlefield to Steeles. In the afternoon, southbound buses operate via Middlefield, Passmore, Maybrook and McNicoll.

January 7, 2011

A new Sunday and holiday service is established on this route, operating between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. These trips run as far north as Passmore only (looping via east on Newmill Gate, north on Maybrook and west on Passmore).

June 22, 2014

As part of a system-wide revision of the TTC's route branch designation system, all northbound "130" buses are redesignated 130A.

February 15, 2015

Orion VII low-floor buses replaced Orion V lift-equipped buses on this route due to retirement. No changes to routing or service levels.
