March 23, 1985

Coincident with the opening of the SCARBOROUGH RT, service begins on a new route replacing the “Neilson via Progress” branch of 43 KENNEDY east of the Scarborough Town Center and serving the residential and industrial area near Tapscott and Finch. Buses on 134 TAPSCOTT run from Scarborough Centre Station via east Progress, north on Markham Road, east on Sheppard, north on Washburn and north on Tapscott, looping clockwise via Tapscott, Newgale, Finchdene (turning right), Finch, Baldoon and Crow Trail. Service operates 18 hours a day, Mondays to Saturdays. No Sunday or holiday service is offered.

Service north of Finch Avenue is reduced. During evenings and weekends, buses follow a new looping arrangement at Tapscott and Finch. 134A buses operate over the normal route to Tapscott and Finch and then loop via east on Finch, south on Neilson and west on Crow Trail to Tapscott. This arrangement also provides replacement service lost through the rerouting of 133 NEILSON away from Crow Trail and onto McLevin Avenue.

The Finch Avenue/Neilson Road looping is replaced by an extended 133 NEILSON route. All off-peak trips use the 134 branch loop at Finchdene Square, eliminating the 134A branch.

November 21, 1993

Looping through the Crow Trail/Finchdene area revised. Every morning, before noon, buses operate over the normal route via Tapscott, Newgale, Finchdene, Finch, Baldoon and crow Trail. After noon, this is reversed, with buses operating via Crow Trail, Baldoon, Finch, Finchdene, Newgale and Tapscott. During rush hours, 134B buses run to McNicoll before completing this loop.

February 18, 1996

As part of a series of system-wide cuts resulting from the elimination of provincial subsidies for public transportation, all service after 7 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and all Sunday and holiday service is eliminated.

February 15, 1998

With the opening of the new Highway 401 overpass on the extension of Progress Avenue, buses are revised to operate on Progress Avenue between Markham Road and Sheppard Avenue.
