Service begins on a new premium express route providing a fast peak-period connection between the Parkwoods Village and Brookbanks neighbourhoods and downtown Toronto. In the morning, service begins at York Mills and Ness and operates via east on York Mills, south on Victoria Park, northwest on Parkwoods Village, west on York Mills, south on Valley Woods, east on Brookbanks, south on Underhill and west on Lawrence to the Don Valley Parkway. From there, buses operate express, stopping at the Don Valley Parkway interchange at Eglinton Avenue and proceeding south on the Don Valley Parkway and west on Richmond, stopping at Sherbourne, Jarvis, Church, Yonge, Bay and York. Afternoon buses pick up passengers eastbound on Adelaide at University/York, Bay, Yonge, Church, Jarvis and Sherbourne before running express via east on Adelaide and north on the Don Valley Parkway to Lawrence (stopping northbound at the Eglinton interchange), following the reverse route and looping via east on York Mills, south on Victoria Park and northwest on Parkwoods Village.
Four southbound trips are operated in the morning and four northbound trips are operated in the afternoon. This route is operated out of Eglinton garage.

To speed up service for passengers, the stop southbound at Eglinton is discontinued. The northbound stop becomes a request stop as of this date.
January 5, 1998
Operation of this route transferred to Wilson garage.
February 12, 1999
Last day of operation. Effective Monday, February 15, 1999, this service is combined with the 136 PREMIUM EXPRESS VIA WYNFORD and operated as the new 144 DOWNTOWN/DON VALLEY EXPRESS.
