Operations switched from Lansdowne Garage to Wilson Garage.
February 12, 1994
Last day of service under this route name. As part of a general reorganization of west Toronto routes made possible by the abandoning of trolley bus service, 18 CALEDONIA service on Caledonia is replaced by an extension of the 47 LANSDOWNE bus. Service is discontinued on Caledonia Park between St. Clair and Davenport. Service on Dovercourt is replaced by the new 161 ROGERS ROAD bus.
February 8, 2026
In conjunction with the opening of the LINE 5 EGLINTON LRT, route name and number restored after 31 years operating from Caledonia Station to Yorkdale Station replacing portions of the 47 LANSDOWNE bus. By coincidence, Caledonia Station is located almost a short distance from the old Gilbert loop where the route was inaugurated in 1964 before being extended southward to Christie Station in 1973.
From Caledonia Station, buses on the 18A branch operate east on Eglinton Avenue West, north on Sanderstead Avenue, east on Bowie Avenue, north of Caledonia Road, east on Bridgeland Avenue, and east and south on Yorkland Road to the bus stop outside Yorkdale Station.Southbound buses operate from the Yorkdale Station bus stop via south on Yorkdale Road, west on South Service Road, north on Dufferin Street, west on Bridgeland Avenue, south on Caledonia Road, west on Eglinton Avenue West arriving at Caledonia Station bus terminal.
Service on the 18B rush hour only branch follows the same path as the main 18A branch except northbound buses turn east on Orfus Road from Caledonia, continuing north on Dufferin Street, and east and south on Yorkdale Road to the bus stop outside Yorkdale Station. Southbound 18B trips run from the Yorkdale Station bus stop via south on Yorkdale Road, west on South Service Road, south on Dufferin Street and west on Orfus Road before continuing south on Caledonia Road.
Buses operate out of Wilson Garage with 12-meter Nova LFS hybrid and Orion VII diesel buses. Rarely, a 18-meter Nova LFS articulated diesel buses may be dispatched.
