Service begins on the renumbered 19 BAY route, replacing the 6 BAY service and freeing up the route number for use by the FINCH WEST LRT. This restores the route number 19 in the downtown core previously used by the former 19 CHURCH route that was cancelled on February 16, 1996.

From Dupont and Davenport, buses on the main branch operate via east on Dupont, south on Bedford, southeast on Davenport, south on Bay, and east on Queen’s Quay to Lower Sherbourne, looping via south, east and north on Dockside Drive to Queens Quay and returning via west on Queen’s Quay, north on Bay, and northwest on Davenport to Dupont.

Occasional short turn service is operated on the 19B branch, operating on the regular route from Sherbourne to Bay Station, looping via east on Davenport, south on Yonge and west on Yorkville to Bay.

Service operate 7 days a week from Birchmount Garage using the Nova LFS low floor buses.

To provide more reliable service to the East Port Lands, partly in response to disruptions to 72 PAPE due to service disruptions related to Ontario Line construction at Pape Station, service on Bay south of Front Street is replaced by the new 114 QUEENS QUAY EAST route. Southbound buses now loop via east on King, south on Yonge and west on Front before returning north on Bay.

As a result of these changes, frequencies on Bay Street are cut once again, with buses arriving at a stop between every 22 and 30 minutes.
