A new regular fare limited stop express “Rocket” service route begins along Morningside Avenue replacing the 116 MORNINGSIDE express bus between Kennedy station and University of Toronto Scarborough east of Eglinton Avenue East, northeast of Kingston Road, north of Morningside Avenue, east of Ellesmere Road, and southeast on Military Trail returning via reverse route.

In between Kingston Road and UTSC, buses stop only Midland, Brimley, McCowan, Bellamy, Markham, Kingston (at Eglinton), Guildwood GO Station, Galloway, Lawrence, Kingston (at Morningside), Ellesmere, and Military Trail. Service operates Monday to Friday during peak periods, midday, and early evenings until 11:00 p.m. The last buses leave Kennedy station eastbound at 10:30 p.m. and University of Toronto Scarborough westbound at 11:00 p.m.

A new walking transfer is instituted on Eglinton Avenue and Brimley Road as well as the 16 McCOWAN on Danforth Road and Eglinton Avenue.

Six buses are used during rush hours and midday every ten minutes and four buses are used during the evening hours. his route operates out of Eglinton Garage

Weekend and holiday daytime service that had been “introduced in June for the PanAm Games” is made permanent. Buses operate every 10 to 12 minutes from roughly 6:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. Sundays) to 7 p.m. on these days.

Last day of operation. As part of the TTC’s expansion of its express network, service renamed to the 905 EGLINTON EAST EXPRESS the following day.
