Service begins on a new seasonal route connecting the Toronto Zoo to Rouge Hill GO Station. Buses initially operate on weekends and holidays all day and early evenings. Weekend service is advertised as beginning with the June board period. This route was originally numbered as the 173 TORONTO ZOO in the 2023 Annual Service Plan.

Buses operate from Rouge Hill GO Station via west on Lawrence Avenue East, north on Port Union Road, north and west on Sheppard Avenue East, north Meadowvale Road, west on Zoo Rd via “Main Entrance Parking - T.T.C. Buses Only” off-ramp, to the Toronto Zoo Loop. Buses return via Toronto Zoo Road, south on Meadowvale Road, east and south on Sheppard Avenue East, south on Port Huron Road and east on Lawrence Avenue East to Rouge Hill GO Station. This route closely replicated the old 13 ROUGE HILL route which ran via East and Island rather than Port Union. The 13 would later subsume into the 85A SHEPPARD EAST in 1994. Buses solely operate from Malvern Garage
