The City of Toronto identifies a need for a north-south connection in the east end of the city, but the topography was too steep for streetcar operation. Instead, service begins on a new bus route operating from Danforth Avenue and Main Street via south on Main, south on Southwood and west on Williamson, looping clockwise via south on Wineva, west on Queen, north on Hambly and east on Williamson. Service operates 7 days a week, 18 hours a day.
October 1, 1933
Operation transferred from Sherbourne to Davenport garage.
July 20, 1940
Service extended south of Queen to provide service to Kew Beach, looping clockwise via west on Hubbard, north on Lee and east on Queen to Hambly. Service operates weekends and holidays only, during July and August.
