77 Swansea

Compiled by James Bow and Mike Vainchtein

January 7, 2001

Service on Runnymede Road south of Runnymede station on the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY renamed and renumbered. The new 77 SWANSEA route established, following the route of 71 RUNNYMEDE. Buses operate via south on Runnymede, west on Morningside, south on Windermere, looping via south on Cole Hill, west on the Queensway, north on South Kingsway, east on Omskirk, south on Southport and north on Windermere. The service is named after the surrounding neighbourhood, the old village of Swansea which existed as a separate municipality until amalgamated into the City of Toronto in 1967.

Service operates out of Queensway and Wilson garages and is interlined with 71 RUNNYMEDE and 79 SCARLETT ROAD at Runnymede station, with no change to service levels or scheduled departure times. Initial service is not fully accessible since, although 79 SCARLETT ROAD was an accessible route, 71 RUNNYMEDE still operated with high floor buses.
