Danforth Bus Lines starts a new bus service in the townships of York and North York, starting from St. Clair Avenue and Old Weston Road (Townsley Loop?) and running to Wilson Avenue and Jane Street via Old Weston Road, Rogers Road, Keele Street, Trethewey Drive and Jane Street. At the south end, buses loop east on Rockwell, south on Silverthorn and west on St. Clair Avenue. At the north end, buses loop through an off-street loop at Wilson.

July 1st, 1954

The newly-formed Toronto Transit Commission takes over operation of a number of bus services operating in the new suburban boroughs of Metropolitan Toronto. The revised TTC Trethewey route connects with the Oakwood streetcar at Gilbert Loop (at Eglinton Avenue and Gilbert) and operates via Eglinton, Trethewey and Jane, looping at Wilson via Plaza.

Last day of operation. The end of the two-zone fare system (which occurred January 1, 1973) would eliminate the need for a transfer with Zone 1 buses at Gilbert Loop. Also, the opening of the Jane Street road extension made it possible for the JANE bus to provide through service to Steeles, resulting in the saving of 3 buses in rush hours and Saturdays and 2 buses on Sundays while at the same time decreasing headways and providing better service.

Route name and number is discontinued. Service on Jane Street replaced by 35 JANE buses operating to Jane station, while service on Trethewey provided by a new 32C EGLINTON WEST branch operating from Eglinton Station.
