Service begins on the 9 BELLAMY bus route for a three month trial. This service, operated by Danforth Division out of Birchmount Garage, is provided Mondays through Saturdays, except holidays, from roughly 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. From the northerly terminus at Bellamy Road and Northleigh Drive, buses loop counterclockwise via west and south on Northleigh Drive and east on Brimorton. They then proceed south and west on Bellamy Road North, south on Cedarbrae Boulevard, and west on Eglinton Avenue to Danforth Road. Buses loop via southwest on Danforth Road, north on Brimley Road and east on Eglinton, returning to route.
Initially, 34 EGLINTON EAST transfers are used, double-punched immediately below the serial number, until BELLAMY transfers become available.
The service passes its three month trial period and becomes a permanent addition to the TTC’s route network.

Coincident with the extension of the BLOOR-DANFORTH SUBWAY to Warden, service is revised on 9 BELLAMY, connecting the route to the subway in the southwest and extending it north-east to serve the community of Churchill Heights.
Buses operate from Victoria Park station via east on Denton, south on Pharmacy, east on Danforth Avenue, northeast on Danforth Road, east on Eglinton, north on Bellamy Road, east on Ellesmere and south on Scarborough Golf Club Road. Buses loop clockwise via west and north on Brimorton Drive, and east on Painted Post Drive back to Scarborough Golf Club Road, returning to route. Service is provided from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, excluding holidays.
In addition, a new short-turn service operates seven days a week, eighteen hours a day from Victoria Park station via Denton, Pharmacy, Danforth Avenue and Danforth Road to Kennedy, looping via north on Kennedy Road, east on St. Clair and southwest on Danforth Road to route. After the subway closes, late night and early morning trips are extended west from Danforth and Pharmacy to Main Street station, connecting with the 10 BLOOR-DANFORTH night bus.
Since the daytime service operates entirely on Zone 2, the normal pay enter-free leave system applies with appropriate transfer connections. During the hours when service is extended to Main Station, this route operates as a 2 zone system, with a zone check made both ways at Danforth Ave and Sibley Avenue.
Passengers must pay a separate fare to transfer between the bus and the subway at Victoria Park station.
This extension replaces a portion of the 21 DANFORTH route between Victoria Park Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East.

An afternoon peak period restriction, barring 9 BELLAMY buses from using the eastbound stop on Kingston Road at Neilson Avenue (likely to make it easier for the bus to enter the left lane ahead of a left turn onto McCowan Road) is extended from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to reflect extended periods of congestion. Buses will serve this stop at all other times.
