Service begins on a new route operated by the TTC on behalf of the Township of York. Buses operate from St. Clair via north and west on Vaughan, to loop within the intersection of Vaughan and Oakwood. Buses returning eastbound operate via Vaughan, then north on Kenwood, east on Claxton and south on Bathurst to west on St. Clair. Service is operated 18 hours a day, seven days a week.

July 1, 1933

At the north end of the route, service is revised to turn back east of Oakwood by looping via south on Cedric and east on Jesmond. Service eliminated between Cedric and Oakwood.

May 21, 1934

Service restored to Oakwood, with buses looping within the Oakwood/Vaughan intersections.

September 14, 1939

Free transfers now available between VAUGHAN and other routes operating in York Township.

April 23, 1942

At the sound end, buses now use the new Vaughan loop at St. Clair and Bathurst. Buses run east and south on Vaughan Road to just south of St. Clair, running east through the loop and returning via north on Bathurst and west on St. Clair to Vaughan.

September 17, 1951

Buses are rerouted when leaving Vaughan loop. Buses now turn right on Bathurst and operate via south on Bathurst and northwest on Vaughan.

July 1, 1954

Following the creation of Metropolitan Toronto and the reorganization of the TTC, full responsibility for the operation of the route is transferred from York Township to the Toronto Transit Commission.

Service on the rush hour branch beyond Oakwood Avenue is cancelled due to ongoing Eglinton LRT construction near the Dufferin/Eglinton intersection. Frequency is increased on the remainder of the route. While this cut may have been temporary, as of this writing (2023), it has not been restored, possibly as a result of ridership losses from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
