As part of the TTC’s rebranding and expansion of its Express Bus Network services, service on the new 902 MARKHAM ROAD EXPRESS service is introduced to supplement service on the 102 MARKHAM ROAD, operating between Warden station and Sheppard Avenue East via Centennial College east of St. Clair Avenue East, northeast of Kingston Road, north of Markham Road, east and north of Progress Avenue looping via west of Milner Avenue, north of Markham Road, east of Sheppard Avenue East and south of Progress Avenue. Southbound buses reverse routing.

Express buses stop northbound at Warden Station, Birchmount Road, Danforth Road, Midland Avenue, Brimley Road, Kingston Road, Cathedral Bluffs Drive, Parkcrest Drive, Markham Road, Eglinton Avenue East, Blake Manor Boulevard, Lawrence Avenue East, Painted Post Drive, Brimorton Drive, Ellesmere Road, Progress Avenue, Centennial College Progress Campus and Sheppard Avenue East while express buses stop southbound at Milner Avenue, Centennial College Progress Campus, Progress Avenue, Ellesmere Road, Brimorton Drive, Painted Post Drive, Lawrence Avenue East, Blake Manor Boulevard, Eglinton Avenue East, Kingston Road, Parkcrest Drive, McCowan Road, St. Clair Avenue East, Brimley Road, Midland Avenue, Danforth Road, Birchmount Road, and Warden Station. Service operates Monday to Friday during peak periods, and midday until 7:00 p.m. Buses operate from Birchmount Garage.

A new southbound stop is added along Kingston Road as the existing northbound stop is already served by this route.

February 19, 2019

To avoid trafiic delays caused by a layover on Markham and Sheppard, a new stop is added on Progress Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East as its northern terminus.

March 23, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic began to affect the TTC heavily, the Commission, as is the other 900-series routes, has suspended express bus service on the 902 MARKHAM ROAD EXPRESS, with local service continued to be provided by the 102A MARKHAM ROAD buses.

Service on Milner Avenue is provided by the 132 MILNER, on Markham Road between Milner and Sheppard by the 102 MARKHAM ROAD buses to Steeles, on Sheppard by the 85 SHEPPARD EAST and on Progress between Sheppard and Centennial College by the 134 PROGRESS.

September 8, 2020

With the opening of the new bus terminal on Centennial College’s Progress campus, buses on the 902 express are rerouted in a new path. However, with the suspension of this service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this change doesn’t happen.

November 23, 2020

Service, cut back due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is restored to pre-COVID-19 levels.

March 29, 2021

Route switched from Birchmount Garage to Malvern Garage on Sheppard Avenue East.

June 14, 2021

Over 40 Nova Bus LFS hybrid buses equipped with WiFi becoming the second route in the corridor to provide free WiFi access.

May 8, 2023

Route extended north to Steeles heading to the new Amazon Fulfillment Centre. Buses operate to Warden station and Steeles Avenue East via Centennial College east of St. Clair Avenue East, northeast of Kingston Road, north of Markham Road, east and north of Progress Avenue looping via west of Milner Avenue, north of Markham Road, east of Steeles Avenue East, looping via south of Tapscott Road, east of Passmore Avenue, north of Morningside Avenue before continuing west to Steeles as southbound buses reverse its routing.

Express stops are added on McLevin Avenue (northbound), Nugget Avenue (southbound), Finch Avenue East, Nashdene Road, McNicoll Avenue, Passmore Avenue, Steeles Avenue East and Morningside Avenue (Amazon Fulfillment Centre).

All trips now operates with Nova LFS 60 foot articulated diesel buses.
