As part of a system-wide rebranding of TTC express bus services, service begins on the new 960 STEELES WEST EXPRESS route between Finch station and Pioneer Village station, replacing the 60E STEELES WEST EXPRESS service. Westbound buses run from Finch station via north on Yonge, west on Steeles, and south on Track and Field Road to Pioneer Village Station, returning via the reverse route. Westbound buses stop only at Steeles Avenue West & Yonge Street, Hilda Avenue, Bathurst Street, Carpenter Road, New Westminster Drive, Dufferin Street, Keele Street, and Pioneer Village Station while eastbound buses stop only at Keele Street (far side), Dufferin Street (far side), New Westminster Drive, Carpenter Road, Bathurst Street, Hilda Avenue, Yonge Street & Steeles Avenue West, and Finch Station. Buses operate out of Arrow Road Garage.

Due to the loss of ridership resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, service on this route is temporarily suspended, with resources diverted to maintaining service on the parallel local routes.

January 4, 2021

Service is restored on this route at the levels that existed for the February 2020 board period.

March 29, 2021

Service transferred from Arrow Road Garage to Wilson Garage.
