Coincident with the opening of the YONGE SUBWAY to York Mills, service begins on a new route replacing a portion of 59G "Sheppard" branch of 59 NORTH YONGE. Buses on 98 WILLOWDALE operate from the newly opened York Mills subway station via north on Yonge, east on Sheppard, north on Willowdale and west on Steeles to loop through the Yonge-Steeles loop.
The round trip is 8.8 miles. Buses operate at 4 minute, 40 second headways during rush hours (using 9 buses), and 20 minute intervals middays, all day Saturdays and Sundays (using 2 buses) and 40 minute intervals late on Sunday night (using 1 bus). Buses operate out of Eglinton Garage.
