April 1, 1949

Service begins on the new BRIAR HILL route, serving the growing residential area in York Township. From Dufferin and Eglinton, buses loop via west on Eglinton, north on Shott, and east on Ramsden before running north on Dufferin, east on Briar Hill and looping via south on Danesbury, west on Ridelle and north on Times, returning via Briar Hill and Dufferin to Eglinton.

Service operates seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight (with Sunday service beginning at 10 a.m.). One bus is scheduled to operate this route, with frequencies of every twelve minutes. The service is operated by the TTC on behalf of the Township of York.

BRIAR HILL

7 days a week, 18 hours a day

July 1, 1949

Service is extended east and south from Briar Hill, operating via south on Danesbury, east on Roselawn and south on Lyon (now Marlee) to Eglinton, looping west on Eglinton, south on Alameda, east on Lanark, north on Winona and west on Eglinton. Buses now operate every twenty minutes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

April 17, 1950

Hours of service reduced to Monday through Friday rush hours and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, with no Sunday or holiday service.

July 18, 1950

The west loop is revised to operate via west on Eglinton, north on Fairbank and east on Bowie to Dufferin.

January 1, 1954

Coincident with the creation of the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, the TTC becomes totally responsible for the funding and operation of this route.

June 30, 1954

Last day of operation. Service replaced by the new DUFFERIN bus, operating over a different route.
