In the mid 1990s, Exhibition loop was closed to allow for the construction of a new trade centre. In 1996, a new, modern facility was opened at the north end of the Exhibition, beneath the Gardiner Expressway, featuring private right-of-way and plenty of storage space to handle CNE crowds.
