RT-2 Flat Car (1953-197?)

This version of TTC RT-2 was a construction car with cab controls, similar to RT-3. It entered service in 1953, while the Toronto subway was still being built, to help with construction. It was built out of former supply car RS-3, a surface car built by the TTC in 1926. RT-2 is seen here in a tunnel, possibly near St. George station, in the early 1960s. The car was still active in the early 1970s, but probably scrapped soon after that. The photographer is unknown and this photo is courtesy the Eric Binns collection.
