TTC RT-16

RT-16 (I) - Tunnel Washing Car (1973-2001)

The first RT-16 was built in 1973 by Nippon-Sharyo as a tunnel washing car. You can tell from the tank that it held a lot of water. The car operated until 2001, when it was rebuilt as a flat car, and renumbered RT-54. Here, we see RT-16 at Greenwood Yard on July 8, 1974. The photo is by R. Short and is from the John Knight collection.
