19530000 - 6TTC 0004 Trolley Bus Plan

In 1953, initial plans for the North Toronto trolley bus network to connect to the YONGE subway to open the following year initially called for separate ELGINTON and LAWRENCE trolley bus routes. Although trolley bus wires were strong on Lawrence from Yonge to Mount Pleasant, the LAWRENCE bus remained diesel, and NORTOWN, replacing EGLINTON, extended further north instead.
