Watermain Work Continues on Queen Street

Buses continue to replace streetcars on 503 KINGSTON ROAD due to watermain work on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Davis Avenue. All 504 KING, 508 LAKE SHORE and 304 KING NIGHT streetcars operate to Distillery Loop only, with buses replacing streetcars on Broadview. 501 QUEEN and 301 QUEEN NIGHT streetcars divert around the construction via Broadview, Dundas Street East and Parliament.

Service Reductions

Service is reduced slightly during the weekday midday and afternoon peak periods on 501 QUEEN, and during the early evening on Saturdays on 506 CARLTON, to match ridership demand. Service on these routes continues to operate at intervals of 10 minutes or better whenever the subway is open. Service is adjusted during the early evenings on route 507 LONG BRANCH to better match the end of service on that route at 10 p.m. with the extension of 501 QUEEN service to Long Branch at that time.

Phase 2 of Queen Street East Construction from Broadview Avenue to Davies Avenue

Note: Some of these changes were applied at a divisional level starting on February 23, 2026.

Increased construction on Queen Street East forces the rerouting of replacement buses off the westbound lanes of Queen. The 503 KINGSTON ROAD replacement bus is rerouted westbound to operate via Broadview, Eastern Avenue, Front Street East and Parliament to King. Eastbound buses divert via Parliament and Queen. Buses loop via south on Parliament, west on Front and north on Berkeley to King.

Westbound 301B QUEEN replacement buses divert via Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street East and River Street before operating on Queen Street to Parliament. Eastbound service operates on Queen Street all the way to Broadview. Similarly, westbound 504D KING replacement buses divert westbound via Dundas and River, and continue to operate between Berkeley Street and Broadview Station.

Existing diverted streetcar service on 501/301 QUEEN and 504/304 KING is unchanged.

College/Bay Track Reconstruction Begins.

The College/Bay intersection is shut down for track reconstruction, forcing the diversion of the 506 CARLTON and 19 BAY routes. 506 CARLTON cars divert in both directions via McCaul, Dundas and Parliament, with 506B CARLTON replacement buses operating from Spadina Station (Bus Bay #2) to Broadview Avenue, following the regular streetcar route. Replacement buses on 506 CARLTON and 19 BAY divert around the College/Bay intersection operating clockwise in a circle using Gerrard Street, Yonge Street, Wellesley Street, Queen’s Park Crescent and University Avenue. 506B CARLTON buses loop clockwise via St. Matthews Road, Jack Layton Way and Broadview Avenue back to Gerrard.

The reconstruction also alters how 512 ST. CLAIR streetcars enter service, operating from its carhouse via Queen Street East, Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street and Bathurst.

Additional trips on 508 LAKE SHORE

Additional trips are added during peak periods on the 508 LAKE SHORE route between Roncesvalles Carhouse and Distillery Loop to address crowding issues. Two eastbound trips depart Roncesvalles and King at 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., with additional westbound trips departing from Distillery Loop at 4:52 p.m. and 5:12 p.m., signed as short turning 504 KING streetcars.
