On Sunday, April 25, 1971, transit fan and activist Steve Munro helped organize a special charter of TTC Western Flyer trolley coach #9202. The TTC had just started shipping off its old Marmon Harrington and Canadian Car & Foundry trolley coaches from the late 1940s and early 1950s to Western Flyer to use the electrical components in the bus company’s E700 series bodies. After the operation of prototype 9020 during 1968 and 1969, the first few buses, numbered in the 9200 series, started arriving late in 1970. On the day of the charter, transit enthusiasts gathered at Lansdowne Garage for a trip across the TTC’s Lansdowne trolley coach division. Richard Glaze was on hand to record the trip.
