Transit Commission decides to delay bus order

According to reports in today’s Toronto Star and other media, the Toronto Transit Commission yesterday decided to delay ordering 120 diesel buses from Daimler Bus North America Limited.

The TTC has faced problems with the diesel - electric hybrid buses that it has already bought from Daimler. The batteries of the buses are failing after less than two years of operating in Toronto and have failed to save the TTC on fuel costs.
