HSR closing downtown Hamilton terminal, detouring buses, August 21



The Hamilton Street Railway is temporarily closing its downtown Hamilton terminal from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 21. During the closure, crews will install new signs as the first step in renaming the MacNab Transit Terminal as the Frank A. Cooke Transit Terminal.

The HSR is detouring buses along these routes, while the terminal is closed:

  • 21 Upper Kenilworth;
  • 22 Upper Ottawa;
  • 23 Upper Gage;
  • 24 Upper Sherman;
  • 25 Upper Wentworth;
  • 26 Upper Wellington;
  • 27 Upper James;
  • 33 Sanatorium; and
  • 35 College.

Northbound buses operate along their regular routes to King and James streets, then detour:

southward along James South to their regular southbound stop on James between Main and Jackson streets.

Southbound buses start their trips at their regular stop on James Street South between Main and Jackson streets, then proceed:

along their regular routes southward along James South.

The terminal remains open while crews install the sign. Enter through the north doors.
